A Fun and Dynamic Learning Experience

Mirboo North Primary School is located in the South Gippsland Shire and is a rural primary with a friendly atmosphere. There is a close working relationship with Mirboo North Secondary College which is located adjacent to our school and we share the administration building, gym and library. We have an excellent relationship with neighbouring primary schools and secondary schools within South Gippsland.

OUR SCHOOL

At Mirboo North Primary School we live our school motto "Working Together". There is a very strong partnership between the school and the community. Our children are active members of their community and we have an open door policy where parents and others are encouraged and welcomed into the school.

We have a unique setup being part of an Education Precinct where we share facilities with the Secondary College and the Community. Our aim is to make education seamless in Mirboo North from Prep - Year 12.

Our school elects student leaders annually and they play an important part of the leadership team. Student voice is important and developing future leaders is also important in achieving our goals.

Our Vision for the school is that we will continue to make Mirboo North Primary School a happy, safe, friendly school where the children are stimulated to learn in an exciting environment and supported to be the best person they can. Mirboo North Primary School will provide an excellent education for all.

Tours can be organised by contacting our friendly office staff who are also more than happy to assist you with any other information regarding the enrolment process.

Children must be five years of age or older by 30 April of the year they start school. To enrol your child the school needs:
•evidence of your child’s date of birth
•names and addresses of the child and parents, guardians and carers
•parents’ phone numbers (home, work, mobile) and email addresses
•names and contact details of emergency contacts
•doctor’s names and phone numbers
•Immunisation Status Certificate
•health and welfare information (for example, does your child have asthma, diabetes, allergies, poor eyesight or hearing, specific custody arrangements)

SCHOOL SAVING BONUS 2024

The Victorian Government is making life that little bit easier for families by providing a one-off $400 School Saving Bonus.
This support will help cover the cost of school uniforms, textbooks, and school activities like camps, excursions and sports.
The School Saving Bonus is in addition to existing and continuing means-tested supports for Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) and the Affordable School Uniforms Program.
The School Saving Bonus will be provided to schools and families in Term 4, 2024.

OUR UNIFORM

Mirboo North Primary School has a school uniform that is easy to wear and serviceable. The basic colors are blue and red.

Navy blue track pants
Navy blue windcheater (no hoodies during school hours)

Plain black, dark blue or white socks

Blue and white checked school dress

School polo's, windcheaters and zip jackets, with embroidered logos are available from the school office to purchase. We also sell shorts, track-pants and soft-shell jackets.

Hats are compulsory in Term 1 & Term 4 as part of our Sunsmart Policy. These can be purchased at cost from the school office. Winter beanies and iron-on school logos can also be purchased from the school office.

We respect the individual needs of all our students and believe that with the right guidance and direction, they can all succeed. Our educational approach empowers our students to question conventional thinking and to pursue their academic understanding with dedication and originality.

Specialist subjects - Art, Physical Education, Digital Technology, Music, Environmental Studies, Performing Arts, LOTE and Library.

SHARED FACILITIES

Mirboo North Primary School and Mirboo North Secondary College form an Education Precinct that serves the local community. Shared facilities include our library, administration, gymnasium and canteen. It is a unique setup that allows the two schools to share other resources as well. It also ensures a seamless transition into secondary education for our students.
